Lab Logistics names new CEO 

Lab Logistics Management, a West Haven-based company, recently named Ruth Abdulmassih as chief executive officer.

The company, founded in 2012, includes Lab Logistics, Hospital Couriers Corp., and Path-Tec, and serves the medical laboratory and hospital industries. 

Abdulmassih most recently served as CEO of Alternative Biomedical Solutions. She has also had leadership roles at Stericycle Inc. and Abbott Laboratories Inc.

Lab Logistics founder and former CEO Brian McArdle will transition from his current role and continue to serve on the company’s board of directors, as will co-CEO Kevin Boykin.

Andy Wilkins, board chairman, said the company plans to continue growth, including expanded international geographic reach.

“Ruth has extensive and complementary experiences that will help us fulfill our shared vision for the company, and we are very excited that Ruth will lead Lab Logistics as CEO,” Wilkins said.

Colleen Bielitz, associate vice president for strategic initiatives and outreach at Southern Connecticut State University, has been leading its efforts related to the metaverse.

Bielitz has been speaking on education’s role in the future of virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) globally, and she was recently appointed by the international VR/AR Association (VRARA) to co-chair its education committee.

As co-chair, she will work with a team of entrepreneurs and developers to create best practices, guidelines and calls to action for education institutions.

VRARA leadership includes current and past executives at industry giants such as IBM, Microsoft, Lenovo, Verizon, Toys R Us, IBM and TED Conferences.

Muther named new CCO at Aware Recovery Care

Aware Recovery Care, an addiction treatment company based in Wallingford, recently named Dr. Jonathan Muther as its new chief clinical officer.

Muther will serve as one of the company’s integrated care experts with oversight of behavioral health clinical services, including the recovery and therapeutic services teams. 

In his new position, he will develop and coordinate clinical goals, practices and protocols and consult on where client outcomes can continue to improve.

Muther has 20 years of clinical experience. He previously served as the vice president of medical services, integrated behavioral health, at the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s Salud Family Health Centers and as clinical director, behavioral health, at Nice Healthcare.
