Maribel La Luz is Hartford City Hall’s new media gatekeeper, effective Wednesday.
Mayor Pedro E. Segarra Tuesday introduced La Luz is the new director of communications and new media, the third person to hold the post in the past nine months.
Her annual salary is $95,000.
The Hartford native most recently was deputy communications Director for Clyde Williams’ congressional campaign in New York City.
Prior to the Williams campaign, La Luz was communications vice president at the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
She has a BA in cultural and urban studies from the New School University and a master’s in secondary education from Mercy College.
Andrea Comer, now with Hartford’s Jumoke Academy, held the post for five months until late April.
Before Comer, Sarah Barr, now a vice president at Webster Bank, held the post for nearly seven years until last November.
