The city of Waterbury’s $476.4 million in municipal debt has been rated A+ by Kroll Bond Rating Agency in New York.
Kroll said the outlook for the city’s ability to cover its debts is stable.
Waterbury’s strong fund balance five of the last six years and flexibility to levy taxes to generate revenue to cover debt payments are keys to the stability and safety of its long-term obligations, including debt for capital projects, such as roads and schools, and pension bonds.
