Hartford health insurer Aetna Inc. hired oncologist Michael Kolodziej as its national medical director to devise strategies for its cancer-care programs.
Kolodziej (pronounced Ka’ low jay) previously was at McKesson Corp.’s US Oncology specialty health unit, as medical director for oncology services and chairman of its pharmacy and therapeutics committee.
He specializes in hematology and medical oncology and is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Kolodziej was a medical oncologist with New York Oncology Hematology, Albany Cancer Center.
He has a BA from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine.
He has been published in more than 50 medical journal articles, abstracts and book chapters.
