KNOX in Hartford has volunteered to renovate Broad Street Community Garden's 22 raised garden beds and make them more accessible to children, the handicapped and the elderly. The project aims to enable residents to actively participate in making Hartford a more livable community and was made possible by support from AARP.
Billings Forge Community Works received a $250,000 grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, in collaboration with Our Piece of the Pie, to support an Opportunity Youth Job Training Program.
Connecticut's credit unions have collectively made an $18,460 donation for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Funds were donated to the National Credit Union Foundation's CUAid program, which coordinates relief efforts for credit unions and employees affected by disaster.
