New Haven charity Knights of Columbus received A.M. Best Co.’s highest financial strength rating of A++ for the 36th consecutive year.
A.M. Best cited the group’s strong fraternal and insurance presence within the American and Canadian Catholic communities and its superior risk-adjusted capitalization. The report also said Knights of Columbus had a large membership base with its charities and portfolio of life insurance and annuity products.
“In the past 36 years, there have been five recessions. And in every single one of those years, the Order earned A.M. Best’s highest rating,” said Supreme Knight and CEO Carl Anderson, in a press release. “This confirms the wisdom of our careful investment policies in turbulent economic times and again demonstrates our fidelity to our original mission: providing Catholic families with security and stability through top-quality life insurance products.”
The Knights of Columbus insurance portfolio is at $80 billion, including recently introduced disability income insurance.
