Klein to lead AMK Welding

Gary Klein has been named president of the AMK Welding South Windsor.

The firm utilizes various specialized technologies to weld components for use in power-generation turbines, and commercial and military jet engines.

Klein, 60, was previously general manager of the Americas at DYNAenergetics, an oilfield products business. Both AMK Welding and DYNAenergetics are owned by Dynamic Materials Corp. of Boulder, Colo.

Prior to joining Dynamic Materials, he was vice president of operations for Tegrant Corp., a provider of highly engineered protective packaging solutions. Klein also was with AMETEK, Inc., where he served as vice president and business unit manager for the company’s $130 million Aerospace Sensors and Fluid Management Systems business.

He worked for four years with Electro Scientific Industries, a $500 million semiconductor capital equipment business, where he ascended to vice president and general manager of the company’s global services operation. He also spent six years at Eaton Corporation, where he was product development manager and focused on down-hole cable products for the energy industry. He spent nine years with The Rockbestos Co., where he was vice president of engineering and focused on off-shore drilling products and applications.
