The owner of a Massachusetts-based retailer of high-end kitchen appliances has purchased a two-building commercial property next to the company’s Norwalk showroom for $5 million, according to city land records.
Clarke Sono Holdings II LLC, controlled by Thomas Clarke of Massachusetts, bought the property at 68-70 S. Main St. in late December. Clarke owns Clarke Living, which operates a showroom at 64 S. Main St. in Norwalk, along with two locations in Massachusetts. Calls to Clarke and Clarke Living were not immediately returned.
The seller was Sonoson LLC, controlled by Sono Lodges Managing Member LLC, and Robert Barton of New York and Adam Barton of New Jersey.
The building at 68 S. Main St. is a two-story, 4,674-square-foot structure with seven apartments, built in 1932, according to property records. The building at 70 S. Main St. is a four-story, 13,002-square-foot mixed-use property with retail and office space, constructed in 1890.
The 0.26-acre property had a combined 2024 assessment of about $4.3 million.
Stavros Filipiddis of Shelton-based commercial real estate brokerage Horvath & Tremblay represented the seller and procured the buyer.
