Kirk, Renyi join The Hartford’s board

Paul G. Kirk is returning after a six-month hiatus to his board seat at Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., joined by a newcomer, retired New York banker Thomas A. Renyi.

Kirk, 72, a politician and lawyer, stepped down from the board last September to fill the unexpired term of late Massachusetts U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Republican Scott Brown in January was elected to fill the vacancy.

Kirk, 72, is chairman and president and a director of Kirk & Associates Inc., a business advisory and consulting firm. He served as treasurer of the national Democratic Party from 1983 to 1985 and as chairman from 1985 until 1989.

He also is a board member of Rayonier Inc.
