Kilduff is new CHFA head

The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority has hired a Darien town administrator as its executive director, effective at the end August.

Karl F. Kilduff of Trumbull replaces Eric Chapman, who left the quasi-public state agency on March 21 after 2 1/2 years, and Interim Executive Vice President, Norbert Deslauriers, who will stay on as a member of the CHFA leadership team, the agency said Monday.

His salary is $210,000.

Kilduff also was town manager for North Branford and city manager for Johnstown, Pa.

As Darien’s administrator, he was responsible for the management of town operations, including oversight of 179 municipal employees, CHFA said. He was also one of the chief architects of the town’s six-year capital plan and annual operating budget.

Kilduff received his M.P.A. from UConn and his B.A. from Syracuse University.

CHFA finances qualified buyers of single- and multifamily dwellings in the state.
