KIDSAFE CT has become an affiliate of The Village for Families & Children after months of preparation and four years of working together on programs for families in Hartford and Tolland counties.
The nonprofits also colocated services at KIDSAFE’s historic headquarters on Elm Street in Vernon.
“This affiliation was the logical next step, especially in face of funding pressure,” Judy Clarke, executive director of KIDSAFE CT, said in a news release.
The Village provides a range of children’s behavioral health treatment, foster care and adoption, and community support services for children and their families.
KIDSAFE CT focuses on early intervention, prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. It offers parenting education, community support services for children and their families, supervised visitation, teen mentoring and positive development programs through an after-school drop-in center for middle and high school youth, and support for Vernon Middle School.
