The owner of the Kettle Bagels & Grill cafe in Southington is planning to open a third location.
Owner Joseph Kim of Southington has gained approval to open a new location in Rocky Hill at 2162 Silas Deane Highway, in place of a former consignment shop.
The 3,140-square-foot restaurant would offer breakfast, lunch and dinner foods, with menu items including bagels, coffee and breakfast goods, along with sandwiches, burgers, wraps and wings for lunch and dinner.
This would be the third Kettle Bagels location, with two in Southington – one on Queen Street that has been in business for eight years, and one on the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike that opened two years ago.
Bagels will be made on-site. The operation is mostly take out or delivery service, but there will be some room for dine-in. Customers are typically in the store for around five minutes to pick up food, or longer for to-go or dine-in orders.
Parking for the restaurant would be shared in the plaza.
The plaza is owned by 2172 Silas Deane Highway LLC.
“We hope that a consideration for a new location in Rocky Hill will be a positive one and we hope to serve the residents of Rocky Hill with great food and great service,” Kim said.
The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the application at its last meeting.
