Keiler & Co. teams with WNBA’s Sun

The Connecticut Sun basketball team has hired marketing firm Keiler & Co. in Farmington to help the WNBA franchise make its mark in the digital arena.

Keiler said that as the Sun’s agency of record, it will assist the franchise with print, collateral, broadcast and digital advertising, publicity, web design and social media.

Keiler emerged from a review process that included several other Connecticut agencies. The agency was chosen because of its strength in and enthusiasm for the interactive and social media space, said Sun General Manager Chris Sienko.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work in the sports marketing category with such an excellent team, both on the court and in the front offices. It’s fast-paced, but a lot of fun at the same time,” said Keiler Managing Partner Lynn Taylor.

The Sun says it is the first independently owned franchise in WNBA history, and is also the first professional sports team in the U.S. owned by Native Americans.

Originally the Orlando Miracle, the team was purchased by the Mohegans in 2003.

The Sun open their eighth season on May 15, hosting the Chicago Sky at Mohegan Sun Arena.
