Kaman wins $3.2M incentives for Fla. jobs

Florida’s Jacksonville Economic Development Commission has approved about $3.2 million in incentives if Kaman Aerospace Corp. adds 200 jobs and invests $28 million in its Northside facility, the Jacksonville Business Journal reports.

The division of Bloomfield manufacturer Kaman Corp. said it’s hiring and plans to expand from 450 employees to about 650 within five years.

Kaman said the new jobs would pay about $46,000 annually, the paper reports, citing an economic development commission report.

Kaman Aerospace’s Jacksonville facility is where it is preparing to make new wing surfaces and assemblies under a Boeing contract to refit the Air Force’s aging fleet of A-10 Warthog ground-attack warplanes.
