Kaman Corp. has signed an agreement to acquire Ohio Gear & Transmission, it announced.
The Bloomfield industrial parts distributor said buying Ohio Gear — which itself is a distributor of mechanical power transmission equipment, bearings and electric automation systems — gives Kaman access to the Cleveland market, which is a new area for Kaman. It also expands the company service capabilities and adds new products to its offerings, Kaman said.
Ohio Gear, based in Eastlake, Ohio, has annual revenue of approximately $9 million. The acquisition, expected to close by the end of the month, adds another facilities to Kaman’s existing 200 customer service centers and five distribution centers.
