Bloomfield’s Kaman Corp. said its aerospace segment has agreed to purchase a German manufacturer of precision, minature ball bearings.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Kaman said GRW expects 2015 sales of 48 million Euros, which equates to approximately $51 million.
GRW makes bearings that produce low noise and that can withstand extreme temperatures and caustic environments. The company has production facilities in Germany and Czech Republic.
Kaman already had a bearings manufacturing company in Germany, RWG Germany, which it acquired in 2002.
It’s the second acquisition Kaman announced this week.
“We believe this combination will allow us to drive synergies through additional sales growth, as well as operational efficiencies, particularly given the proximity to our existing operations in Germany,” Kaman Aerospace Group President Gregory Steiner said in a statement.
The deal is slated to close by the year’s end.
