Bloomfield aircraft components manufacturer Kaman Corp. has named Richard R. Barnhart president of the Kaman Aerospace Group, effective Jan. 2.
Barnhart, 57, of Ellington, succeeds Gregory L. Steiner, executive vice president of Kaman Corp. and president of the aerospace group, who is retiring Jan. 2.
Barnhart had retired from the Barnes Group in 2016 as senior vice president and president of Barnes Aerospace following a tenure of leadership and advancement across a number of that company’s divisions. Prior to Barnes, Barnhart was president of Kaman’s aerostructures division.
He began his career with Price Waterhouse and spent a decade in increasingly responsible operating roles with United Technologies Corp. and Pratt & Whitney.
Barnhart received an MBA from the University of Connecticut, and he holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Vermont.
