Bloomfield tool manufacturer Kaman Corp. is opening a $4.2M tooling facility next week in Lancashire, U.K.
Kaman will hold a grand opening event May 29 at the 34,000 square-foot Tooling Center of Excellence.
The purpose of the facility is to meet the increased size of requirements of modern aircraft structures, and allow for a significantly improved process of assembly. The new facility will be one of the few in the U.K. with a design suite that allows for enhanced design and assembly.
The facility will create up to 50 new jobs by 2015 as Kaman continues to expand in Lancashire to a 64,000-square-foot facility.
