The U.S. Air Force has ordered $5.4 million of additional bomb fuzes from Kaman Corp., the Bloomfield manufacturer announced.
The recent order brings the total number of joint programmable fuzes under Kaman’s contract with the Air Force to 15,000. Some of the fuzes will be produced in Middletown.
Kaman has been the Air Force’s sole provider of fuzes since 2002, it said.
