Kaman Corp. in Bloomfield says it has tightened its grip on the motion-control distribution market in the Intermountain and Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. through an acquisition.
It said its Minarik Corp. subsidiary bought the assets of Automated Technology Inc. for undisclosed terms.
The acquisition is Minarik’s seventh acquisition in a decade, Kaman said.
Minarik, a unit of the Kaman Industrial Technologies Corp. division, itself was acquired by Kaman just last May for $39 million. Based in Glendale, Calif., Minarik distributes motion-control and automation hardware.
Automation Technology has locations in Salt Lake City, Utah and Boise, Idaho., enhancing Minarik’s leading position in those markets, along with adding new markets in Portland, Seattle and Denver.
Officials said both companies will retain their separate identities and trade names.
