The aerospace subsidiary of Bloomfield manufacturer Kaman Corp. on Wednesday finalized a $120 million deal to supply New Zealand with 10 helicopters and spare parts.
Kaman Aerospace Corp. began negotiating with New Zealand in June after receiving permission from the U.S. Department of State to sell up to 11 Super Seasprite helicopters. The aircraft original had been sold to Australia, which returned them.
The final deal for 10 Seasprites includes spare parts, a flight simulator, and logistics support is set for completion within weeks.
The Seasprites replaces New Zealand’s current fleet of helicopters, providing the highest power-to-weight ratio of any maritime helicopter.
