As 2.1 million New Englanders hit the road for the Independence Day weekend, Connecticut’s gas prices are the highest since 2008, according to AAA.
The state’s average fuel price is $3.98 per gallon, up 21 cents from $3.77 in 2013. In 2008, gas cost $4.37 for the July 4 holiday.
Across the country, gas prices are averaging $3.48, up 19 cents from a year ago, AAA said.
