United Technologies Corp. has hired Akhil Johri as its new chief financial officer, following his predecessor Gregory J. Hayes’ promotion to CEO, the Hartford aerospace manufacturer announced.
Johri previously worked for UTC for 26 years, most recently as vice president of finance and CFO for its Propulsion & Aerospace Systems division, which includes Pratt & Whitney and UTC Aerospace Systems.
He left UTC in May 2013 to be CFO of Pall Corp. in New York, which makes filtration and other products for the life sciences industry.
Hayes was promoted to CEO last month, following the departure of Louis Chenevert. When Johri starts work Jan. 1, UTC’s acting CFO Peter F. Longo will return to his position as vice president of finance and CFO of UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems, the company said.
