Johnson Memorial gets $150K donation for infusion center

Johnson Memorial Hospital has received a $150,000 grant from the co-founder of Friendly’s restaurant to help fund the construction of an infusion center on its Enfield campus.

The hospital is looking to attract other contributions to match the grant from S. Prestley Blake, co-founder of Friendly Ice Cream Corp.

The Infusion Center, which is estimated to cost about $300,000, is the first phase of JMH’s expansion of services on its Enfield campus. The second project is a wound care center that would provide comprehensive care with healing rates of 80 to 90 percent for chronic wounds.
