Jersey Mike’s Subs is opening a new restaurant in Newington on Wednesday.
The restaurant is in a newly constructed building at 12B Fenn Road, next to Starbucks and near the Central Connecticut State University campus.
Jersey Mike’s is known for its grilled sandwiches, including cheesesteaks, and its blend of red wine vinegar and olive oil topping.
During the grand opening, which runs from Wednesday to Sunday, customers who present a coupon can make a $3 donation to the school’s athletic department in exchange for a sandwich.
“We are very excited to open our doors to the Newington community and show what Jersey Mike’s is all about,” said Chad Faulkner, area director of Jersey Mike’s. “… We look forward to being a part of this community for many years to come.”
The location’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the phone number is 860-357-5737.
Customers can place orders in-store or for pickup through the website or through the Jersey Mike’s app. Delivery and curbside pickup are available.
Nationally, Jersey Mike’s shops have raised about $90 million for local charities since 2010. In March, the company’s 12th annual Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving raised $20 million for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games.
Jersey Mike’s Subs has more than 2,300 locations across the country.
