Q&A:
What do you do in your current job? I help businesses do what they do best. I follow our company mantra each day — 'We help business work.' We provide businesses with the products, services, support, knowledge and expertise they need to run their daily operations so they can focus on their core values, goals and aspirations.
What are your goals in your current job? To work more closely with our team to increase our offerings, expertise, our level of service and in turn partnering with and servicing more businesses throughout Connecticut and the rest of the country, ultimately to be the source other businesses trust and depend on each and every day.
What's your biggest passion? My passion is our customers. This passion we've seen compounded company-wide over the last 40 years we have been in business as we continue to help more businesses year over year. I love the excitement of dealing directly with our customers, meeting new people, helping them in a number of different ways and ultimately winning them over as a partner in business.
What are your future professional aspirations? I'm a lifer and will continue on with Suburban. Simply put, I'm in this for the long haul. I look forward to many years of doing what we do best.
How are you involved in the community? I'm honored to serve on the board of directors of our local Middlesex YMCA in Middletown. For years, the Y has and continues to serve the community through its programs and services, ensuring that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
If you were governor of Connecticut for a day what is one policy you'd push to improve the state's future? If I was governor of Connecticut for a day the issue I would address is our health care. We all deserve the best quality of life possible and this all begins with our health. Any positive change we can make in health care would be just one more positive step forward improving life in our state. Affordability for the individual and businesses is critical with this as well to not only ensure our physical health but our fiscal health. Health care would be my priority one.
List four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: Relationships — people come first and with that success has followed. I feel, although I'm certainly not perfect, putting others first has lead to success in nearly all the relationships I have, from customers, our team, family, friends and those that I love, especially with my wife. Giving back. A balanced life — success personally and professionally. Commitment to community, education, friends, family, my wife, those I have the pleasure of working with, and of course some good old fashion fun and hard work. Having a customer focus has resulted in our company's incredible success over the years.
