Jeff Hubbard jumps to First Niagara

New York regional lender First Niagara Financial Group Inc. has chosen Hartford banker Jeff L. Hubbard to oversee its banking team here and in Massachusetts.

Hubbard joins Buffalo-based First Niagara from TD Bank, where he was a vice president and managed its Hartford region and oversaw its commercial, middle-market and small-business lending activities. A Guilford resident, he will be based in New Haven.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to help make a real difference for consumers and businesses in this market,” Hubbard said in a statement Friday.

Hubbard, too, will oversee a large chunk of First Niagara’s commercial banking business, the bank said.
