Lou Golden, president and CEO of Junior Achievement, is assisted by students from West Hartford’s Charter Oak International Academy at JA’s seventh annual Partners in Achievement breakfast. The event at The Hartford Club was attended by more than 150 guests and raised a record $138,000 to help JA’s efforts at empowering young people to own their future economic success. The students welcomed guests, mingled and networked with attendees. One student detailed his JA experience for the audience. The 12 Charter Oak students are members of the school’s student council and were representing their classmates who all received JA programming this spring thanks to volunteers from XL Group in Hartford. During their JA program, 252 students in grades 1-5 experienced the JA curriculum for a half-day.
