Our Mission: Interval House is dedicated to ending domestic violence and providing services that will prevent and break the cycle of family and intimate partner abuse. We strive to reach all persons at risk and bring about social change.
Founded in 1977, Interval House has made a positive difference in the lives of nearly 250,000 people who have experienced physical and psychological abuse at the hand of a domestic or intimate partner. Through our 24-hour hotline (860-527-0550), emergency safe house, safety planning and counseling, and advocacy in the civil and criminal court systems, we work tirelessly to ensure our clients have the assistance they need to establish independence from their abusers and live safer lives.
By providing a confidential residence, along with concrete information to understand and deal with their individual situations, we arm our clients with the tools to utilize community resources and to empower themselves. This education, paired with our community outreach, aims to prevent and break the cycle of abuse for coming generations.
Goals
• Better serve the immigrant community through our new Project: Hope Beyond Fear program
• Provide preventive services to high-risk victims through an enhanced advocacy partnership with local law enforcement
• Make a lasting impact on child witnesses of abuse through our growing children’s therapy program
• Secure more funding for assistance to victims who need help rebuilding their lives
• Strengthen our Board with new members who will help to advance the agency
• Build deeper partnerships with the corporate community
Fundraising Events/Opportunities
Walk to End Domestic Violence — a walk-a-thon held each October to raise awareness and funds for our cause. Visit intervalhousect.org for more info.
Breakfast With Champions — an awareness and awards event that raises critical funds for Interval House every October is complimentary; 100% of all donations directly support victims’ services. RSVP to attend, host a table, or sponsor the event: 860-838-8461.
The Step Up & Step Out Gala — a black-tie affair with auctions, live music and dancing — is held at The Society Room each Spring. Sponsor the event or buy a table: 860-838-8461.
Giving Opportunities
