Insurity appoints new CEO, announces $100M AI investment

Insurity, a Hartford-based software provider to the property and casualty insurance industry, has appointed a new CEO and announced a major investment in AI.

Jatin Atre succeeds Jeff Clarke, who will continue at the company as executive chairman.

Atre adds the CEO position to his current role as president. He joined Insurity in 2020. The company says he previously led Insurity’s integration of AI, including a $50 million commitment in 2026 to AI-powered research and development, expanded machine learning capabilities, and increased customer support capacity.

“Our AI strategy is focused on helping insurers materially reduce operating costs, improve underwriting precision, and deliver meaningful increases in profitability,” Jatre said.

He also announced an additional investment of $100 million over the next two years to modernize core systems with embedded AI and build AI-native insurance products.

Insurity provides cloud-based software to more than 500 property-and-casualty carriers and managing general agents, making it one of the largest technology vendors in the sector.

Headquartered in Hartford’s Coltsville building, Insurity was founded in 1985. In 2019 it was acquired by a private equity fund run by California-based GI Partners.
