If you think you’ve got the next groundbreaking idea when it comes to innovations in technology, health, biotech, the arts and climate, pitch it at Yale University’s upcoming annual innovation summit.
Since 2015, the Yale Innovation Summit has been bringing together innovators, ideas and venture capital. More than 30 startups have since been formed from the event, supported by $600 million in venture financing, according to officials.
Timothy J. Opstrup, director, finance and administration for Yale Ventures, has said, “Our main goal is to be a connection hub. We want to get people with ideas in front of investors.”
Yale faculty and alumni innovators who are at the idea stage or who have pre-seed to Series A startups are encouraged to submit pitches in the areas of biotech, climate, arts, health and technology.
Organizers said participants will have a chance to connect with industry experts and gain insight through feedback sessions with industry mentors.
There will be more than $200,000 awarded in prizes, and top submissions will be selected to present ePosters or pitch live on stage.
New to the event this year will be biotech and digital health accelerator awards, with awards totaling $150,000.
The two-day summit will take place May 31 and June 1 at the Yale School of Management.
This year’s theme, “Expanding Impact,” reflects the momentum of the Yale and Connecticut entrepreneurial ecosystem and the summit’s growth to now include more areas of innovation including arts, biotech, climate, health and technology.
Pitches can be entered via Thumbraise, a matchmaking portal designed specifically for Yale Innovation Summit participants.
Yale biotech and digital health innovators who submit their ideas through Thumbraise will have an opportunity to be selected for one of 25 biotech poster slots and a chance to pitch onstage during the summit.
The deadline for submission of ideas and videos is March 31. Click HERE for more information.
