The European Commission is investigating the aid package the Dutch government provided to help prop up ING Group NV, which has major operations in Windsor.
The EC said it is extending its antitrust investigation on concerns over valuation, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The commission said the state aid measure could stay in place for the duration of the probe. In mid-March, the commission cleared the Dutch government to help ING handle illiquid assets for six months.
The temporary clearance for the package that European authorities gave in March will be allowed to continue until the full investigation is completed.
