Infoshred back in snow-damaged E. Windsor home

One year after its roof caved under a heavy blanket of snow, document-storage provider Infoshred has moved back into a rebuilt, 50,000-square-foot replacement in East Windsor — one much sturdier than the old one.

During a Feb. 4, 2011 overnight snowstorm, the roof partially collapsed on Infoshred’s old, leased facility at 3 Craftsman Road.

None of its clients’ records and files were damaged, but were moved to a secure, temporary site while the old location underwent rebuilding, Infoshred owner Stacey DiPiazza said Tuesday.

Infoshred isn’t taking any chances with the new facility, which exceeds code requirements for rooftop loads. For instance, DiPiazza says, the new roof can maintain loads up to 40 pounds per square foot  — 10 more than what is acceptable.

The building also is equipped with a fixed ladder so crews, if necessary, can climb up to clear away snow and ice.

“We are very confident in this new structure, but even more confident in our ability as a company to collectively rise above any challenge that is put before us,” Jack DiPiazza, general manager, said.
