Inclusive coffee cafe moves to new location in Old Avon Village

An inclusive coffee cafe, BeanZ & Co., has agreed to lease a 5,400-square-foot building at 11 East Main St. in Old Avon Village.

The cafe has employees with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The location will also house a partner company, New England Pasta Co. The pasta company was co-founded by BeanZ & Co.’s co-founder, Kim Morrison, in 1994.

Reno Properties Group LLC, a commercial real estate broker based in Newington, helped Morrison and BeanZ & Co. co-founder Noelle Ali find the new location. They decided to move from their previous location at 300 West Main St. after their rent increased.

Reno’s property management team renovated the building in 2022. Also, BeanZ & Co. raised $75,000 through a GoFundMe fundraiser to build a kitchen.

“We were truly humbled and overwhelmed by the support from so many,” Morrison said. “Our community is everything to us. We aim to pay it forward with our continued mission.”

The building fronts Route 44 in a popular part of town.

“Old Avon Village is a local hotspot, and we are sure that BeanZ & Co. will have a great deal of success at this location,” said Dan Garofalo Jr., vice president of sales and leasing at Reno Properties Group.
