Hartford HealthCare, which is moving its headquarters to 100 Pearl St. in downtown Hartford, debuted its newly renovated office complex Monday morning.
The complex will house about 700 employees, including ones who have moved from other offices in Hartford, Newington, Farmington and Wethersfield.
As of May, Hartford HealthCare had nearly 200 people in the building. That number is expected to reach 700 as construction nears completion.
Hartford HealthCare is moving its executive offices from the 19th floor of the One State Street tower on Columbus Boulevard to 100 Pearl St., making it the company’s new headquarters.

In a recent op-ed in the Hartford Courant, Hartford HealthCare CEO Jeff Flaks said the organization’s new headquarters “has been imagined and designed as a destination for collaboration — where people can connect easily and create better solutions. I believe an organization’s culture improves when colleagues are together. Innovation can thrive when teams from many backgrounds are encouraged to work as partners.
That is why we have created a center entirely focused on innovation and collaboration, with dedicated space for start-up organizations that can be part of Hartford’s growing innovation ecosystem.”
Hartford HealthCare’s downtown Hartford expansion is noteworthy given many center-city employers are shrinking their footprints as they embrace a hybrid work model coming out of the pandemic.
The office vacancy rate in downtown Hartford was 17.9% at the end of the second quarter, according to CBRE. The Class A office vacancy rate was 20.1%.
