A Middletown office building that housed accounting firm Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski LLC collapsed during Wednesday’s ice storm, but no one was injured, authorities say.
The three-story brick building at 505 Main St. in Middletown is owned by partners Mike DiPiro and Mike Sokolowski.
Two members of the 39-year-old firm were in the building at the time of the collapse. Both escaped without injuries, authorities said.
“Everyone is okay,” said Mike Dipiro. “We would like to assure our clients that all systems are backed up and that no data has been lost. All of our files are intact and the computers were not damaged.”
DiPiro said the firm has a disaster recovery plan to relocate to new offices in downtown Middletown within the next week and will resume business as usual as quickly as possible.
