The Connecticut Department of Transportation will close Interstate 84 in both directions this weekend in Southington for bridge rehabilitation.
Starting at 5 p.m. Friday, traffic in both directions will be reduced to one single lane and directed onto the ramps at Exit 30.
Heavy traffic delays are expected, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes like I-91, I-691, Route 9, and Route 72.
All lanes of I-84 in Southington will reopen in both directions at 5 a.m. Monday.
