Hyperfine Inc., the Guilford-based creator of a portable MRI device, has named Neela Paykel as general counsel and Tom Teisseyre as its chief product officer.
Paykel will manage all the company’s legal and compliance matters, including contracting, intellectual property, and corporate governance issues.
Dave Scott, president and CEO, said Paykel is a “highly skilled and experienced healthcare legal expert.”
“She will be working closely with all functions across Hyperfine, including sales, marketing, and the clinical science teams,” Scott said.
Paykel, an attorney with over 25 years of experience in healthcare, life sciences law and team leadership, most recently served as deputy general counsel at Waymo.

Tom Teisseyre
Teisseyre, a product and organizational leader in surgical technology, medical devices and imaging, was previously head of surgical and implantable devices and a founding member of Verily Life Sciences.
Paykel and Teisseyre will work with Scott and Hyperfine’s leadership team to build the company, including expanding commercialization of its Swoop portable MRI system. They will also prepare Hyperfine for future growth and help ready it for a possible public market offering, according to the company.
