HYPE volunteers in reading program

Members of the Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (HYPE) took part in a Reading Day April 8 at John C. Clark Elementary and Middle School in Hartford. The goal of the event is to form positive relationships while promoting literacy skill building. The Reading Day is part of the Husky Sports Program of UConn’s Neag School of Education. The five-month initiative seeks to engage 1,200 Hartford students in three different schools in reading thousands of books. HYPE, an initiative of the HartfordMetro Alliance, working toward young professionals becoming better engaged in community life.
