A survey by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co., which writes cyber and other insurance, found that 69 percent of companies had experienced at least one hacking scare or incident in the past year.
Of those polled by the Munich Re-owned insurer, 37 percent reported between one and five incidents, while 31 percent reported none, and 4 percent reported 11 to 15.
The survey also found that 55 percent of respondents don’t think their companies are dedicating enough money or training to combat hacking.
Of the 102 risk managers polled on site at an April 27 conference of the Risk and Insurance Management Society in New Orleans, 63 percent were employed by large enterprises, while 30 percent were mid-sized.
