In August, 104 Connecticut municipalities authorized 295 new housing units, as new residential construction remains sluggish in Connecticut.
That figure represents a decline from both the month before (395 new units approved in July) and from a year ago (336 units in August 2107).
Among area municipalities with the most activity (although the numbers are so low as to be statistically insignificant) were New Haven, with 37 new units approved in August and 430 year to date, Milford (11 for the month, 119 for the year so far) and Fairfield (12 and 57, respectively).
