The Board of Regents for Higher Education said it has hired Paul Broadie II as the next president of Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport.
Broadie, who is vice president for student services at Orange County Community College in New York — part of the SUNY system — will succeed interim President Elizabeth Roop.
Roop was named interim president when Anita Fliniecki announced her retirement in June.
Besides Orange County, which he joined in 2002, Broadie has also worked for the State University of New York.
He has a doctorate in philosophy from Colorado State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Long Island University.
