Honey Cell honored for energy efficiencies

The Southwest Connecticut Summer Savers Awards awarded Bridgeport packaging supplier Honey Cell its top honor for the company’s efforts in reducing its energy use.

Through the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, the company installed lighting sensors, new fixtures, an efficient air conditioning system and compressor units to achieve a 38 percent reduction in energy consumption.

The awards were presented in late April to 20 Connecticut companies whose combined energy efficiency efforts saved 1,300 megawatt hours of electricity.

After Honey Cell, the top awards went to the U.S. Postal Service in Waterbury, Stamford law firm St. Onge Steward Johnston & Reens LLC, and the City of Danbury Rogers Park garage.
