The Minnesota operator of the HomeTown Buffet chain and other restaurants plans to close 81 of its least profitable restaurants as part of its plan to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from creditors, The Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Company officials did not identify the locations to be closed, but said the move will happen “promptly.” Locations will be named Friday, Buffets Inc. spokesman Nathan Riggs said.
The chain has four restaurants in Connecticut, including one at 165 Slater St. in Manchester. It also operates restaurants in Wethersfield, West Hartford, and Milford.
