Home sales rose in March

Sales of Connecticut single-family residential homes increased 6.1 percent in March 2015 with a higher median sales price, according to trade association Connecticut Realtors.

March saw 2,015 homes sold vs. 1,899 sold in March 2014. The median sales price increased to $233,250 from $225,000 a year ago.

That increase in Connecticut homes sold still is less than the national average (7.8 percent), but Connecticut homes were selling higher than the nation median price of $212,100. Regionally, Northeast home sales increased 1.6 percent in March with a median sales price of $240,500.

Townhouse and condominium sales increased 4.9 percent in March. However, the median sales price dropped to $147,000 from $149,750.
