A historic Winsted mill that once produced hosiery and other knit products recently sold for $1.9 million.
The 106,695-square-foot, four-story brick mill building at 210 Holabird Ave., sold to a limited liability company sharing a Winsted address with Birchwater Property Management.
The buying LLC’s principal, Jeffrey Reich, is listed on Birchwater’s website under the title “acquisitions and strategy.”
Attempts to reach Reich were not immediately successful.
The 1900-vintage, four-story brick building hosts a variety of specialty crafters and retailers, noted Paul Harrington, town manager for WInchester, the town in which the City of Winsted is located.
Harrington said he understands the new landlords plan no immediate changes to the building’s use.
The seller, Whiting Mills LLC, lists Jean Paul Blachere and Eva Blachere as principals.
The sale, recorded on Aug. 18, included the building on 1.6 acres, along with a neighboring 0.66-acre property.
