Hilton Hartford lands $7M HUD loan

The Hilton Hartford has gotten a $7 million federal loan that officials say keeps viable one of downtown’s largest convention and hospitality anchors.

The city and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development say they have completed the Section 108 financing.

The 393-room luxury hotel at Trumbull and Church Streets employs more than 150 workers. The former Sheraton-branded hotel reopened in 2005 following a major renovation.

Waterford Hotel Group operates the hotel.
