Higher costs keep SS&C earnings flat

Windsor financial software and services provider SS&C Technologies said its first-quarter profits were flat, due to higher cost of revenue and operating expenses.

The company reported net income of $26.2 million, or 30 cents per diluted share. That’s compared to $26.4 million, also 30 cents per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter.

Revenue grew 10.7 percent, or $19.9 million, to $205.7 million compared with year ago.

But that increase was eaten up by higher research and development and administrative expenses, as well as higher cost of revenue, the company said.
