HHC shakes up Charlotte Hungerford urgent care offering

Hartford HealthCare, which acquired Charlotte Hungerford just over a year ago, intends to move the Torrington hospital’s urgent care walk-in services to a new facility less than mile away.

HHC told the Office of Health Strategy this month that it wants to move existing urgent care walk-in services from 1598 East Main St. in Torrington to a newly constructed facility at 992 East Main St., effective Jan. 15. The new location is a recently renovated bowling alley, and will operate under HHC’s GoHealth Urgent Care brand. The health system has opened 14 so far, with another four in the works.

All existing services will be maintained at the new Torrington facility, which will have longer hours (12 hours a day on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends), HHC said.
