Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care announced it’s offering new virtual, on-demand behavioral talk therapy services for Connecticut residents ages 15 and older.
HHC officials said the new service comes at a time when demand for access to such services is on the rise.
“Adding behavioral health services to our virtual offerings enables us to address a growing need in a place we already call home, and furthers our commitment to our patients,” Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Medical Director Eric Walsh said in a statement. “Having greater access to behavioral health services is critical. If these conditions are left untreated, they can become as serious as a heart attack.”
HHC said state residents will now be able to schedule a virtual session online with HHC-Go Health Urgent Care behavioral health providers to discuss conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and phobias. The health providers are able to prescribe medication and connect residents to a licensed therapist. In addition, providers can also refer higher-risk residents to inpatient services.
The therapy is a self-pay model and isn’t covered by insurance. Each session, HHC said, cost $95. Appointments are available from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Information is available online at https://www/gohealthuc.com/hartford/behavorial-health.
